Biography

Rui began her BEng study in Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture in 2014, graduating with a first class degree in Inorganic Nonmetallic Materials in 2018, honored as Outstanding Graduate. She carried out her final year project under the supervision of Dr. Qin Wang, titled “The Effect of Graphene, Carbon Nanotubes and PCE Composite System on the Piezoresistivity of Cement Based Materials”. During her undergraduate program, she was the president of Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture Tea ceremony club and the core member of Department of Engineering Administrative Office. Now Rui is starting her MSc program at UCL, under the supervision of Dr. Gemma-Louise Davies.

Research Interests

Rui found her academic interest in the area of nanomaterials. Her research will involve an investigation of the stimuli responsive nanomaterials. Including synthesizing and investigating UCST thermally responsive polymer based on the surface of mesoporous silica nanoparticles that will be used to control anti- health issues drug delivery agents.
