Julie is currently working towards her PhD under the supervision of Prof. Claire Carmalt.

Biography

Julie is from South West London. After carrying out work experience at the laboratories in Kew Gardens during her gap year, Julie immediately knew that research was for her. Her interests lie in the medical applications of materials. She is part of the Spectroscopy in a suitcase scheme which is run by the RSC, providing secondary school students with the opportunity to learn more about spectroscopy interactively. Julie is now in the final year of her Chemistry MSci degree programme at University College London and is preparing and investigating organometallic complexes as precursors in the synthesis of functional nanostructures under the supervision of Dr Gemma-Louise Davies.
